I was originally inspired by Martha Stewart's Valentine Cookies. However, I decided to use Bake at 350's Brown Sugar and Spice recipe. I fell in love with this recipe at Christmas when I was baking cookies for a toddler cookie decorating party. These are so much better than traditional sugar cookies. I will admit that I am a little more generous with the nutmeg and allspice just because I love the flavors. I used Strawberry Jam for the filling.
My daughter helped me, that is until we hit the limit of her 2-year-old attention span. But she did have fun pouring in the ingredients.
After the cookies were done, I packaged them up in bags and attached a bag tag. I decided to use the same owl that I am using on my daughter's valentine cards.

I will be making cookies but we have a question on the label, how did you make the label with ordinary paper or construction paper?

Maria & Ruth... I just used cardstock. I cut it down with my paper cutter (because I am incapable of cutting a straight line). My labels were 4 inches wide by 3 inches high (or 1.5" when folded).
