While the blooms haven't emerged outside yet, they have inside. Two weeks ago I clipped some forsythia branches from my yard and followed BHG's great tutorial on forcing branches. My reward... beautiful blossoms that make me smile, even when I was sick last weekend.
If you haven't tried this yet, I recommend it. It is a great way to get through this transition period.

forsythia is my favorite... my parents have them and as soon as i see the buds i know that it is finally spring!
i never did though... but i should... once i finally figure out which shrub in my yard is forsythia... i know one of them is (we bought the house in winter) LOL

I'm with you. I love seeing their early flowers in Spring. That might be why I equate Spring with Yellow.
